All CIFG structured finance and capital market transactions must be rated investment-grade before the application of CIFG’s guaranty. CIFG’s financial guarantees cover all major global asset classes, including credit cards, vehicle loans/leases, student loans, floorplan loans, timeshare receivables, transportation receivables, residential and commercial mortgages, and pooled risk (CDO/CLO) portfolios, among others.

Each transaction is underwritten individually and comprehensively to determine its level of risk – requiring analysis of the underlying asset characteristics, structural elements, legal framework, and any other sources of risk [and risk mitigants]. Transactions are then judged on the results of the overall risk assessment, pricing and return dynamics, impact on CIFG’s overall portfolio, as well as other qualitative and quantitative considerations
